About Me

Meet Rein. After dedicating over 40 years of his professional life to Alberta’s oil and gas industry, he embraced his artistic side upon retiring in 2018. With a keen eye for detail honed through music, photography, and video production, Rein took painting lessons and quickly uncovered his natural talent. Each new piece reflects his distinctive style and commitment excellence, captivating all who view his work.

Exploring My Style: Paint What You See While You're Standing There

Too often, even the perfect photograph fails to capture what you truly felt when you were standing in that moment. A camera can only expose one level of light at a time — bright areas become washed out, dark areas lose detail, and the emotional impact disappears.
The human eye, however, sees everything: the subtle textures in the shadows, the brilliance in the highlights, and the full depth of the scene.
Rein’s paintings bring that experience back. He captures detail in both the light and dark areas, creating images that feel immersive and real — as if you were standing there yourself.
People often respond with:
“I feel like I’m there.”
“I want to be there.”
And one viewer even said, “I want to jump into your painting.”
While many of his works focus on landscapes, Rein also paints a wide variety of subjects — wildlife, domestic animals, still life, and portraits. Regardless of the subject, he applies the same commitment to realism, depth, and emotional presence, making each painting a more vivid and memorable experience.
