That Eerie Glow

This painting show the incredible effects for that one, short moment in time, when the

sun is about to set, giving that amazing pinkish, orangey, red glow on the mountains

around Mount Assiniboine. We’ve all experienced this eerie effect, somewhere, which

only last but a minute or two.

Those mountain segments getting direct light show warm colours. The rock has orange

tones and the snow is bright pink. But, the most amazing part is the clouds, still getting

direct light, reflecting warm light down to the mountains below. The result is beautiful

redish, purple hues onto the shadowed rock and snow, more intense near the top and

reducing to cool blueish tones in the deep shadows of the low areas.
